Wander & Root is an all-outdoor nature immersion program for homeschooling families in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Children learn and play across 50 acres of private land in rural Jackson Springs.

Our days here are filled with boisterous play, curiosity, experimentation, art, campfires, exploration, laughter, and time to connect with friends and nature. We inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, develop confident problem-solvers, and give children the simple but increasingly rare gift of a nature-filled, physically active, and playful childhood.

We welcome homeschooling families from many backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life. Whether you are brand-new to homeschooling or have been at it for years, and whether your family follows a classical, Charlotte Mason, Montessori, Waldorf, unschooling, online, or entirely homegrown path—you are welcome here.

Wander & Root is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations support our scholarship fund and allow children with financial need to attend tuition-free.
